Libertad

Cuba’s state sponsored involvement in narcotics smuggling is no secret to the United States and neither are the identities of mercenaries they have enlisted to keep the calm in their transshipment operations. What is a secret to the rest of the world is Havana and Washington’s plan to lift the decades-long U.S. embargo on Cuba.

Mack Olen, a decorated DEA veteran from Key West, is investigating the Coast Guard’s bust of a mysterious drug exchange in the Gulf of Mexico and then later the disappearance of a Key West charter fishing boat. Olen will soon realize the two events are related, and every lead he follows will bring him closer to uncovering a shocking conspiracy.

Ripped from headlines and painstakingly researched, Jock Young has written a complex, political thriller that masterfully juggles many balls in the air while never letting them drop.

“An interesting, plausible, fast-paced tale.” — Kirkus
